They’re the last ones picked; the last to get married, with children usually appearing before the ring. Their bodies are ogled, even by US presidents. They’re good enough for sexual conquests and bragging rights. They’re put through humiliation rituals like no other group, and supermodels are no exception. In this case, the black woman seems to finish last, as always.
Joan Smalls, a black Victoria’s Secret supermodel, and Candice Swanepoel, a white model with the same affiliation, reportedly quarreled over former New England Patriots QB Tom Brady. To many, Brady and Smalls’ past relationship comes as a surprise since the athlete is not known for being “sacked” by black women. Apparently, he has chosen Swanepoel.
Or perhaps the focus should be on friends arguing over a man and why it shouldn’t be happening, rather than race.
