We’ve heard some humdingers, slammers, and low blows. But that’s to be expected. The name of the game is to win at any cost. However, America is seeing a monster blow on the campaign trail.
Ohio governor candidate Vivek Ramaswamy and his team are reportedly behind attack ads against his opponent, the incumbent Dr. Amy Acton. The vicious ads feature an interview with the physician’s birth mother calling Acton a liar regarding her sexual abuse and neglectful past as a child. Acton claims she was taken away from her mother at the age of 12 and hasn’t had contact with her since.
While much of the Republican and Democratic Party is in an uproar over the attacks, Vice President JD Vance has chosen a side. The VP stated at a campaign rally in Cincinnati: “And now the media and Democrats in the state of Ohio are obsessed because guess what?” According to People Magazine, he continued. “Vivek Ramaswamy had the audacity to run a TV commercial which calls it out like it is and calls Amy Acton a liar.”
Two people deserve praise in this dumpster fire: Amy Acton for how she’s handling it and VP Vance. Unlike the rest of his party, he’s acting as a man who knows what his party is.
