Hollywood isn’t known for mass-producing role models, but it has consistently led in trends and lifestyle changes. They gave us the TV show Will and Grace. The program introduced America to Will, an intelligent, successful sophisticate, who contrasted with his friend, Jack “the fool,” whom society had previously defined as the ideal gay man. Americans needed to be slipped into a plush, cotton-candied seduction of movie and television scripts that wrote more “Wills” into our lives, creating a cushion before we descended upon the expansion of gay rights.
Our government is not exempt from what much of America thought about the LGBT community—undignified, impulsive, flamboyant ridiculousness. Its ideological needle regarding gay life hasn’t budged. An explosive video has surfaced exposing that Washington, D.C remains in the pre-Will and Grace era, shoving progression in dark hotels with denial while the rest of the country struggles, but keeps making strides.
YouTube gold, The Young Turks and Swamp Watch Studios allege in their new documentary, The Closetocracy, that the late South Carolina senator Lindsey Graham paid off several male escorts for sex. One of the men claims Graham requested to be “degraded,” and the “more degrading, the better.” Another man, then 17, said the senator wanted him to confirm he was of age by repeatedly demanding that he say his age was 18.
