Regardless of what words the Trump administration isn’t using, the United States and Israel are at war with Iran.
Make no mistake, many view this conflict as unprovoked, with fewer than 20 percent of Americans appearing to disagree.
The Iranians are pursuing their goals with determination, while the US supports Israel, each with its own interests.
But what happens when the United States government forces its citizens to adopt the Iranian ideology—willing to risk it all? Many of us are already forcefully voicing our opinions on social media, and our bravado will only increase as the war progresses.
Our government has fucked up, pushing most of its voters to support a foreign country that they have attempted to convince us is evil.
The Iranians are matching the US and Israel blow for blow (closing off the Strait of Hormuz is Iran’s most effective strategy so far) with no surrendering in sight, and despite their actions against the United States, Americans are rooting for Iran.
Perhaps most US voters see Iranians as they see themselves—the underdog. Whatever the case, Iran showing the US and Israel the FAFO method is something to marvel at, but the American government needs to be concerned about its voters following suit.
